The steady hum of excitement filled the air as little princes and princesses filled the East Lawn, clutching their parent’s hands in anticipation. A light sea breeze off the Atlantic cut through the summer heat, creating the perfect temperate evening for guests seated around the white linen tables dotting the lawn. Weaving in-between the crowd of guests, staff brandished dish upon dish as guests dined heartily on Disney inspired cuisine, with miniature Mickey-eared desserts garnishing plate after plate. Special guests Ariel, Aladdin, Belle and Anna visited Ocean House for their performance of Disney favorites, including tunes from Frozen and Hercules. Songs such as “Love Is an Open Door” were met with great success, with parents and children sang together in a chorus of merriment to the popular tunes.
As the sun began to fade and the performance came to an end, the characters descended from the stage, introducing themselves to wide-eyed children dressed in their own favorite Disney outfits. The night came with a pleasant surprise, when a score of fireworks erupted toward the twilight sky to the tune of “When You Wish Upon a Star”, closing the event with cheers from the crowd ending the night on a truly magical note.
